Episode #37 with Edith Callaghan
Dr. Edith Callaghan is a professor at Acadia University in the Faculty of Environmental & Sustainability Studies. Her expertise includes sustainable consumer behaviour, business sustainability and the natural environment, community sustainability and resilience, and community food and energy issues.
Edith is an active volunteer in the area of bringing food security to Nova Scotia. As a result of her involvement, she has assisted multiple municipalities in developing capacity around planning for sustainability. She is also a member of the Greening of Industry (GIN), an international network of professionals from research, education, business, government and civil society organizations, focusing on issues of industrial development, environment and society, dedicated to building a sustainable future.
Dr. Callaghan is a participant in the Climate Reality Project, whose mission is to catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every sector of society.
In addition to her involvement with the Climate Reality Project, Edith has participated in a public debate against another faculty member on “Capitalism's Growth Ethic: The Greatest Threat to the Contemporary Environment.”
